I don’t understand the problem of supporting the #AllLivesMatter movement however in regards to it being a direct hit to the #BlackLivesMatter movement, it is a little cynical. The statement is most definitely true, all lives do matter, but when events that have plagued the black race for many of years, to say all lives matter in an effort to belittle the black lives matter movement, is outrageous. I get it, we are tired of hearing about this movement and tired of news articles and clippings that display that yet again, another black life has been lost, inhumanly. I understand. We are all tired of hearing about this, and our irritability with this issue should prompt some type of change. We’ve gotten it wrong for so many years, let’s take some time to make things right. I’m not talking government laws or politicians and police officers or military or anything of that sort. I’m talking about every person who call themselves American, can and should make a change… to value all lives. The only reason black lives are the big issue is because it is the most prominent issue in all sorts of media right now. But with this present awareness, this should make us want to value all peoples especially those who commune with us: the doctors, cashiers, waiters, bus drivers, school children, teachers, bill collectors, repo officers, meter maids, full-time students, stay-at-home moms, full-time dads, phone operators, local farmers, construction workers, captains, and CEOs, yeah the police officers too. These social movements should bring us closer as a nation not divide us more. The separation by race thing is getting old. America has been founded for 239 years and we are still dealing with the same ideas of race, gender, class, and economic separation. I think its times up for a change. America has grown into so many things since that founding day along with keeping some of her ugly agendas stashed away. Its about time that all Americans discussed these injustices, not just blacks.
