Here Goes Nothing

Feelings of relief and satisfaction enfolded me.

Here goes nothing. One word then another swiftly appears across the stuffed envelope. Naivety and optimism are at the forefront of my thoughts. A sense of accomplishment flowed through me.

My vocal cords vibrated and my lungs gave way to produce the sweetest, soothing, calmest and all-encompassing name known to ever fall from my lips: Jesus.

Tucked away in a neatly signed and sealed envelope was my query letter to a top magazine. And though it was only a letter interest, everything in my felt strange: an odd kind of goodness, a goodness that moved me, a movement that lasted.
